This Podcast will Change Your Commute (and your life).

Podcasts are becoming so famous and across multiple platforms too. After a bit of convincing from a friend, I listened to my first Podcast a year and a half or two ago. I never quite got the essence of podcasts because I was so used to other alternatives, such as music. Because why spend time listening to someone else’s banter. Right?
I was wrong. Podcasts are so much more, and they will change how you spend your time. They are the ideal way to spend that morning or evening commute to and from work. Podcasts will keep you busy and make you forget all about the hustle and bustle that comes with the traffic on our roads.
One Podcast that I have grown to love and appreciate is Therapy for Black Girls. Here are some reasons why it could also completely change your commute:

It is by a black woman: Therapy for Black Girls is a podcast by Joy Harden Bradford, a black woman and a licensed psychologist from Atlanta, Georgia. As a black woman, it is pretty apparent that one would be drawn to a woman who speaks with us and for us and opens our minds to new information.

The topics are enlightening: Some of the topics discussed in this Podcast are considered taboo in most of our homes. These topics include mental health, personal development, and broad topics on how to make sure you are the best version of yourself. It is important when your mindset is challenged, which in ways forces you out of your boxed ways of thinking that have been perpetuated by society.

It is convenient: What better way to spend your commute than with your earphones or headphones plugged in, getting life advice? It is easy to access new episodes which air weekly, and all you need is your phone to get entertained and educated in the process. Also, the Podcast allows you to conveniently do something else, such as drive because it does not overly engage you.

It provides access to a community: Again, as a black woman, having a community that understands you and is on standby when you need help is everything. No matter where you are in the world, you can always count on the support of Dr. Bradford and the community she has created across her social media platforms. You do not have to try too hard to be heard either.

New ideas for conversations: Most of the topics in this Podcast make you think a lot. While listening to this Podcast, you can get some great ideas on the next thought-provoking topic to discuss with your friends and loved ones. As I have gotten older, I have learned that conversations are essential to your well-being and that of others. As long as you speak up, you never have to go through things alone. It is also not easy, but it can be done.
